A Tale Born of Shadows
Beneath the grand Paris Opera House lives a creature of legend — a disfigured genius known only as the Phantom. Hidden behind a white mask and consumed by his own isolation, he watches from the darkness as a young chorus girl, Christine Daaé, begins to sing with a voice that echoes the angels he once dreamed of.
What begins as a secret mentorship — his voice guiding hers through the candlelit corridors of her dreams — slowly unravels into a consuming obsession. As Christine is drawn between the dark allure of the Phantom and the noble love of her childhood friend Raoul, the Opera House itself becomes a stage for tragedy, passion, and redemption.
Based on Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel Le Fantôme de l'Opéra, Andrew Lloyd Webber's 1986 musical transformed a forgotten piece of gothic literature into one of the most beloved and enduring works of musical theatre in history.

The Mind of Andrew Lloyd Webber
Born in 1948 in South Kensington, London, Andrew Lloyd Webber would become the most successful composer in the history of musical theatre. From Jesus Christ Superstar to Evita, from Cats to Sunset Boulevard, his melodies have defined generations.
But it was The Phantom of the Opera — inspired by Ken Hill's 1976 theatrical version and Gaston Leroux's novel — that would become his crowning achievement. Premiering at Her Majesty's Theatre on October 9, 1986, the show fused rock opera, classical grandeur, and gothic romance into something entirely new.
The result was a phenomenon that has since played in 183 cities across 27 countries, been seen by over 140 million people, and earned a place in the pantheon of theatrical immortality.
